Privacy Policy

The short version: MachineryList is an online marketplace that connects people who buy and sell heavy equipment. We use your information to run the marketplace, and when you contact a seller (or a buyer contacts you), we share the contact details needed to connect you. We don’t sell equipment ourselves and we don’t process your payments.

1Who We Are

MachineryList is operated by Machinery List LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We run an online marketplace at machinerylist.com where sellers list heavy equipment and buyers browse and get in touch. We are a listing and connection platform — we are not the buyer or seller in any deal, and we don’t handle the payment for the equipment sale itself. (We may charge sellers for optional paid services, such as featured listings — see below.)

2Information We Collect

• Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, company, and anything you include in a listing, inquiry, or message.
• Listing details: photos, descriptions, location, price, and specifications of equipment you post.
• Automatic information: IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you use the site (through cookies and analytics).
• Location: the general location tied to a listing or your device.
• Communications: messages and inquiries, and any calls or texts you exchange through or with us.
• Payment information: if you buy a paid service from us — such as a featured or promoted listing — our payment processor collects the payment details needed to complete your purchase.

3How We Use Your Information

• Run the marketplace — show listings, connect buyers and sellers, and pass along inquiries.
• Contact you about your listings, inquiries, account, and support requests.
• Send marketing — updates, tips, and offers by email or text, where you’ve agreed (see Section 5).
• Improve the site — understand what’s used and make it better.
• Process paid services — take payment for optional paid features you buy from us, like featured listings.
• Keep it safe — prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse.
• Meet legal obligations — comply with the law and enforce our Terms.

4How We Share Your Information

• Between buyers and sellers. This is the heart of what we do: when you submit an inquiry on a listing, we share your name and contact details with that seller so they can respond. If you’re a seller, we share your listing and contact details with interested buyers. Please only share what you’re comfortable passing along.
• Service providers. Companies that help us operate — hosting, payment processing, email and text delivery, and analytics — and only for that purpose.
• Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers. If our business is sold, merged, or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that deal.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

5Marketing Emails and Text Messages

With your permission, we may send you marketing emails and text messages about equipment, features, and offers.

• Email: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
• Text messages: if you opt in to texts, message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. Reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help. We may still send essential messages about your account or inquiries.

6Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar tools (including Google Analytics) to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

7Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, opt out of marketing, and ask us not to “sell” or “share” your information (we don’t sell it for money). California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of the “sharing” of information for cross-context advertising. 8Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No website or internet transmission is ever 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

9Links to Other Sites

Our site and listings may link to other websites we don’t control. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices — please review their policies.

10Children’s Privacy

MachineryList is intended for business users and is not for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here with an updated date, so please check back now and then.
