Shipping/Delivery Information

How heavy equipment shipping actually works in your industry:

  • MachineryList does NOT ship equipment — you're a listing platform, not a fulfillment service.

  • In the heavy equipment industry, the buyer is almost always responsible for arranging and paying for transport. This is the standard at IronPlanet, Ritchie Bros, Machinery Trader, and every major equipment marketplace.

  • Equipment is typically moved via flatbed truck, lowboy trailer, or specialized heavy haul carriers — not standard postal/parcel shipping (FedEx, UPS, etc.).

  • Many buyers work with freight brokers or heavy haul transport companies (like VeriTread, which partners with several large equipment marketplaces to provide transport quotes).

  • Equipment remains at the seller's location until the buyer arranges pickup.

Recommended policy language for the site:

  • MachineryList is a marketplace platform and does not handle shipping or delivery of equipment.

  • Shipping and transport arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer and seller.

  • Heavy equipment typically requires specialized transport (flatbed, lowboy trailer, or heavy haul carrier). Buyers should arrange transport through a qualified heavy equipment shipping provider.

  • Equipment location is listed on each listing page. Buyers are welcome to arrange on-site inspection before purchasing.
